We had no takers on this Mystery Photo, so it was off to check the microfilm. The original caption reads: Sharon McConnell uses sand to fill animal figures made out of a heavy cloth as she prepares her piece called ‘Breakwater’ for the Contemporary Artists Center gallery, which will be having an opening for the first summer exhibit this Friday. The photo originally ran June 9, 1994.

No one called or wrote to us on this Mystery Photo, so off we went to the microfilm. The original caption reads: The Dream Auction on Saturday at the Williams Inn will benefit the MGRHS Community Spirit Funds Project. From left, representing the school’s athletic teams, are Marguerite Quintal, Holly Stevens, Sawyer Haig and Josh Bennett. The photo originally ran March 17, 1995.

Mystery solved on Friday August 3, 2012.

Tracy Rougeau McConnell contacted us on Facebook to identify the location of this photo as being the Northern Berkshire YMCA gym prior to being renovated. Amiee Kupiec and Chris Viens identified Tanya Viens Derby as being the older girl in the middle of the photo. Chris Viens added it was during a summer camp at the YMCA. Tanya Viens Derby chimed in, ‘That was so much fun. I loved being at the Y all summer long.’ The photo originally ran April 23, 1994.

On Facebook, Carolyn Beaudreau and Candice Morey identified Kelsey Shepley as the girl raising her hand in the front row. Morey also identified Josh Barrett, sitting directly behind Shepley. Shepley added the girl in the back row was Deanna Trumble and the boy next to her was Mitch Tanguay. A trip to microfilm disclosed it was the first day of school at Plunkett Elementary School in Adams. The photo originally ran Sept. 6, 1995.

1995 Drury Boys State delegates

Ed Buckley III and Brendan Bullet were just two of many who commented on Facebook about this mystery photo. This photo, taken at Drury High School on April 15, 1995, was of the Boys State delegates. Jeff Wright and Peter Melito and alternates Mike Wilson and Kurt Kimball were photographed. We’re glad to know it brought back some good memories for those in the picture.

Kristyn Raimer, 5, pushes her little baby doll in a carriage, imitating her mother, Robin, who is pushing Kristyn’s brother, Adam, 2, in his carriage as they walk down Myrtle Street in Adams. The photo originally ran June 20, 1996.

Avis Morrill called to say the young lady dressed as a Native American in this photo was Sarah Morris and the event was a history fair at the Clarksburg School. The original caption said that ,dressed as a Mohawk Indian, she talked to folks about the customs and cultures of the Mohawks of this area. The photo originally ran June 14, 1994.

Jean Phaneuf and Kris Zieba recognized Bob Hayden and Roland Racine in this Mystery Photo. Jean thought the woman was a American Cancer Society representative. — and she was right. Hayden, Valley Park Lanes manager, was giving a check to Felicia Pharr, director of the Northern Berkshire Unit of the American Cancer Society. The proceeds are from a scotch doubles tournament. Roland Racine, right, was the chairman of the tournament. The photo originally ran May 2, 1994.

Gisele (Miner) Bua, Diane (Vallieres) Chalfonte and Bonnie (Blanchard) Gower called to report their mothers were the first three from the left — Rose Vallieres, Justine Miner and Shirley Blanchard. Diane Chalfonte and Kaite Michalenko also identified Anna Mae Jammalo as the woman second from the right. A trip to the microfilm gave us Rita Clifford as the lady on the right. The photo was of a Jollee Circle Club installation of officers at the Eagles Hall. The photo originally ran June 29, 1994.
